We Appreciate YOU!
Shout Out to ALL the Hardworking Employees + Volunteers During the Holiday Season
The holiday season is a time for joy and celebration, but for many, it can also be a source of stress, sadness, or loneliness. For those working in service industries—retail, restaurants, package delivery, cleaning, and more—it can be an especially challenging time. The long hours, demanding tasks, and sometimes unkind interactions can take their toll.
At this time of year, emotions can run high. Customers may be carrying the weight of their struggles, and unfortunately, that can spill over onto others. To all our hardworking service professionals: we see you, we appreciate you, and we thank you for showing up every day, doing your best, and bringing your dedication to the job.
To everyone shopping, dining out, or interacting with service workers: let’s all be a little gentler. Be generous with kindness, patience, and understanding. If you encounter someone having a difficult moment, try not to take it personally. A bit of grace and compassion can help de-escalate the situation and remind them—and yourself—that everyone deserves a little kindness.
5 Quick Self-Care Tips to Get Through Tough Moments:
- Take a Deep Breath: Inhale for four counts, hold for four, exhale for six. Repeat this cycle three times to calm your nervous system.
- Step Away: If possible, take a quick break to reset. A short walk, even around the block, can clear your mind.
- Use Positive Affirmations: Remind yourself, “This is temporary,” or, “I am doing the best I can.”
- Hydrate and Nourish: A sip of water or a healthy snack can make a surprising difference in how you feel.
- Focus on Gratitude: List three things you’re grateful for, big or small. This practice can shift your perspective.
This season, let’s spread kindness like confetti—to ourselves, to those we serve, and to everyone we meet. You’re doing a great job, and we’re grateful for you.
Let’s make this holiday season brighter, together. 💛
